Child Therapy Service CIC
The BOUNCE Approach®
Projects
Why We Created Them
Every setting wants children to thrive. Most know where the challenges are. The difficulty isn’t recognising what needs to change – it’s finding the time, capacity and support to turn that understanding into everyday practice.
As a social enterprise, the Child Therapy Service reinvests its income to improve outcomes for children and young people. One way we do this is by funding implementation projects that help settings embed effective practice while building the evidence for early intervention.
Over the years, we kept seeing the same pattern: committed adults, clear priorities and a genuine desire to improve outcomes, but no simple framework that connected training, implementation and impact measurement.
That’s why, this year, we created The BOUNCE Approach® Projects – a structured six-week implementation model that helps settings turn understanding into action, and action into measurable impact.
How They Work
Every BOUNCE Approach® Project follows the same proven implementation model, designed to help settings embed meaningful change within one school half term.
Together, we’ll:
- Identify a clear area of need.
- Access funded BOUNCE Approach® training and practical resources.
- Embed practical strategies into everyday practice.
- Measure early change using our 2-minute BOUNCE Snapshot process.
- Share anonymous impact data that contributes to a growing evidence base for early intervention.
Everything is designed to work together. Training, practical resources and the Snapshot process are fully connected, giving your team a clear framework for implementation and a simple way to evidence the difference you’re making.
2026–27 Project Cohorts

Our Social Impact Story
As a social enterprise, every funded project helps us learn, improve and reach more children, families and professionals. Each project has contributed to the development of The BOUNCE Approach® and the resources available today.
2021–22
White Hall Academy
29 children supported
A daily grounding intervention embedded into the school day. Assessment scores improved, staff confidence increased and the whole-school approach continued beyond the funded project.
Impact: Demonstrated that short, consistent interventions could be successfully embedded within everyday school practice.
2022
Tactile Defensiveness Project
67% reported clear reductions in tactile defensiveness
Eight families took part in a parent-led project exploring regulation-based somatic strategies.
Impact: The learning from this project was transformed into Learning Portal resources, allowing many more families to benefit.
2023–24
Funded Family Coaching
Free and subsidised coaching for families
One-to-one coaching supported families who were unable to access private services. Parents and carers developed a deeper understanding of their child’s nervous system, practical co-regulation strategies and greater confidence in supporting change at home.
Impact: Helped remove financial barriers to specialist support while continuing to shape family resources and training.
2025
Part-Funded BOUNCE Practitioner Programme
Building capacity across education and community settings
Subsidised Practitioner training enabled professionals to embed The BOUNCE Approach® within their own settings.
Impact: Expanded the growing network of BOUNCE Practitioners, increasing sustainable, evidence-informed support for children and young people.
2026–27
The BOUNCE Approach® Projects
The next stage of our social enterprise journey. Working in partnership with settings across the UK to embed practical change, measure early impact and continue building the evidence for early intervention.
Why Six Weeks?
We’ve deliberately designed every BOUNCE Approach® Project to fit within one school half term.
Six weeks provides enough time to embed practical strategies, build staff confidence and measure meaningful early change, while remaining achievable for busy settings.
The funded project lasts six weeks.
The learning, confidence and practical resources remain with your setting long after the project has finished.
Become a Project Partner
Every BOUNCE Approach® Funded Project helps one setting improve outcomes.
Together, they help us build something much bigger – a growing evidence base that supports earlier identification, better-informed practice and improved outcomes for children and young people.
As a social enterprise, every project we deliver helps us improve the next one. The learning gained is reinvested into new resources, better training and future funded projects, extending support to more children, families and professionals.
If your setting is ready to turn understanding into action, we’d love to hear from you.
Complete the Expression of Interest form below to apply for one of our funded 2026–27 project cohorts.
Applications are reviewed on a cohort basis. If your setting is selected, we’ll invite your Project Lead to a Welcome Session before the project begins.
