Why We Created Them

The hardest part isn’t knowing what needs to change – it’s having the time and support to make it everyday practice.

As a social enterprise, the Child Therapy Service reinvests its income to improve outcomes for children – funding implementation projects that help settings embed effective practice while building the evidence for early intervention.

How They Work

Embed meaningful change within one school half term

Every project follows the same proven implementation model. Together, we’ll:

2021-22

White Hall Academy

29 children supported

A daily grounding intervention embedded into the school day. Assessment scores improved and the whole-school approach continued beyond the project.


Impact: Short, consistent interventions can be successfully embedded within everyday school practice.

2022

Tactile Defensiveness Project

67% reported clear reductions

Eight families took part in a parent-led project exploring regulation-based somatic strategies.


Impact: The learning was transformed into Learning Portal resources, so many more families could benefit.

2023-24

Funded Family Coaching

Free & subsidised coaching

One-to-one coaching supported families unable to access private services, building understanding of the nervous system and co-regulation.


Impact: Removed financial barriers to specialist support while shaping family resources and training.

2025

Part-Funded Practitioner Programme

Building capacity across settings

Subsidised Practitioner training enabled professionals to embed The BOUNCE Approach® in their own settings.


Impact: Expanded the network of BOUNCE Practitioners and sustainable, evidence-informed support.

Leeds Beckett University Accelerated Industry Placement

Spotting SEMH needs earlier

A research partnership asking: what are the earliest indicators of emerging SEMH needs, and how can professionals use them to implement timely, preventative support?


Impact: Strengthening the evidence for early identification and preventative, proactive practice.
