Therapeutic LEGO® Intervention Pack
15 complete, ready-to-use session plans that give children a non-verbal route into emotional expression — through building, colour, metaphor, and story, without pressure or performance.
When a child is overwhelmed, anxious, shut down, or neurodivergent, asking them how they feel can make things harder, not easier. LEGO® building offers a different way in. Through building, children can show what words cannot reach — using colour, structure, metaphor, and story — without pressure, without performance, and without needing to explain anything at all.
Each of the 15 session plans is built around a specific area of SEMH need and includes clear objectives, a suggested introduction script, four child-led build invitations, optional reflection prompts, and practitioner notes to keep every session low-pressure throughout. A Session Selection Guide at the front maps 15 common situations — from school transitions and friendship difficulties to sensory overwhelm and big emotional reactions — directly to the most appropriate session.
Designed for SENCOs, teaching assistants, pastoral leads, family support workers, and anyone who sits alongside children in a caring role. No specialist training required — just a willingness to be a calm, steady presence while the child builds.
Three bonus resources to deepen your practice.
A structured snapshot to identify where a child may be struggling on the inside while appearing fine on the outside — so you can see beneath the surface and respond to what is actually there.
Track entry to exit progress and evidence what has changed across the review period — giving you a clear picture of impact over time.
Understand the nervous system foundations behind regulation, emotional expression, and connection — so you can apply them with confidence in your sessions.
