  1. Introduction

The Child Therapy Service Directory (“the Directory”) is owned by Child Therapy Practitioners Limited (Company No. 13945877) and operated by Child Therapy Service CIC (Company No. 12067820) under licence (together referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”).

This policy explains the purpose of the Directory, our role in operating it, and what is expected of everyone who uses it. It applies to all visitors and users, including parents, carers, schools, and professionals searching for support services.

By using the Directory, you confirm that you have read and agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

  1. Purpose of the Directory

The Directory is an information and signposting platform designed to help parents, carers, schools, and professionals find qualified, child-focused service providers who support the emotional wellbeing, development, and mental health of children and young people.

The Directory is not a referral agency, recruitment service, or representative of any listed individual or organisation. We do not act as an intermediary in any engagement between a user and a provider.

Listings on the Directory may include, but are not limited to:

  • therapists and counsellors
  • coaches and mentors
  • educational and clinical consultants
  • training providers and authors

Each provider is solely and independently responsible for their own service delivery, fees, safeguarding procedures, professional conduct, and client relationships.

  1. Our Role

We are committed to maintaining a high-quality and trusted platform. To support this, we:

  • review all listings before publication to ensure they meet our quality, relevance, and safeguarding standards
  • may request evidence of professional registration, qualifications, or insurance where appropriate
  • monitor listings and reserve the right to suspend or remove any listing that breaches our terms, appears misleading, or raises a safeguarding or professional concern
  • handle all concerns raised by users confidentially and in accordance with our Directory Provider Code of Conduct and Quality Policy

We do not endorse, accredit, verify, or recommend any individual provider or organisation listed on the Directory. The presence of a listing does not constitute our approval of that provider’s services or our association with them.

We are not liable for any agreements, communications, disputes, or outcomes between users and listed providers.

  1. Your Responsibilities as a Directory User

By using the Directory, you agree to:

  • conduct your own due diligence before engaging with any listed provider
  • independently verify a provider’s qualifications, professional registration, insurance, and suitability for your needs
  • communicate directly with providers to confirm service details, fees, availability, and approach
  • report any listing that appears inaccurate, misleading, unprofessional, or raises a safeguarding or ethical concern
  • not use the Directory for any unlawful or improper purpose

The decision to engage with any listed provider is entirely your own. We are not responsible for any outcome arising from that decision.

  1. Safeguarding

The safety of children and young people is our highest priority. If you have an urgent concern about the safety or welfare of a child or young person, you must contact the relevant statutory services immediately. Do not rely solely on reporting to us.

If you become aware of any listing or provider that raises a safeguarding concern, please report it to us at [email protected] as soon as possible.

  1. Limitations and Disclaimer

The Directory is provided on an “as is” basis. While we take reasonable steps to maintain a high-quality platform, we do not guarantee:

  • the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any listing
  • the professional competence, conduct, or quality of any listed provider
  • the suitability of any provider for your specific circumstances or needs

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:

  • any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, harm, or damage arising from use of the Directory
  • any dispute, agreement, or outcome between a user and a listed provider
  • any reliance placed on information contained within a listing

Nothing in this policy limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

  1. Reporting Concerns and Feedback

We take all concerns and feedback seriously. If you wish to report an issue with a listing, raise a concern about a provider, or suggest an improvement to the platform, please contact us at:

Email: [email protected]

All reports are reviewed confidentially. We will acknowledge receipt and respond where appropriate. We do not publish details of concerns or investigations.

  1. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, or our services. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of the Directory following the publication of an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.

  1. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with your use of the Directory are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
