- Purpose
This policy sets out how The BOUNCE Approach® may be used, represented, and protected by individuals, organisations, and third parties.
It is intended to:
- ensure clarity and consistency in how the mark is used across the sector
- protect the integrity and reputation of The BOUNCE Approach®
- reduce the risk of confusion or misrepresentation
- Trademark Ownership
The BOUNCE Approach® is a registered UK trademark owned by Child Therapy Practitioners Limited.
Registration applies in the following classes:
- Class 9 – digital materials
- Class 41 – education and training services
All rights are reserved in connection with use of the mark in relation to these goods and services.
- Correct Use of the Mark
Primary Use
On first mention in any publication, training material, website, or marketing, the mark must appear as:
The BOUNCE Approach®
Secondary Use
After the first mention, the following shortened forms are acceptable:
- the BOUNCE Approach
- BOUNCE Approach
Use of the ® symbol is recommended on first or most prominent use in any document or page.
Important Distinction
The registered trademark is “The BOUNCE Approach” in its entirety. The word BOUNCE alone is not registered as a standalone trademark.
- Use of BOUNCE Approach® Badges
Who May Use a Badge
Approved BOUNCE Approach® badges may only be used by individuals or organisations who have:
- completed recognised BOUNCE Approach® training
- been granted explicit permission to use the badge
- an active licence or membership, where applicable
Badges may be displayed on websites, professional profiles, and marketing materials.
Conditions of Use
Badge use must:
- accurately reflect the individual’s or organisation’s relationship to The BOUNCE Approach®
- not imply ownership of the trademark
- not suggest endorsement, partnership, or accreditation beyond what has been formally granted
- be used in its original, unaltered form — no changes to colour, layout, or design are permitted
What Is Not Permitted
Badge use is not permitted where:
- the individual or organisation is no longer authorised to use it
- the badge is used to promote services or products unrelated to The BOUNCE Approach®
- use is misleading in any way
Use of a badge does not grant any right to:
- create new programmes using the name “BOUNCE”
- rebrand services using the mark
- sublicense or transfer badge use to any other person or organisation
Withdrawal of Permission
Child Therapy Practitioners Limited reserves the right to withdraw badge use permission at any time where:
- use does not comply with this policy
- there is a risk of confusion or misrepresentation
- the relevant licence, membership, or authorised relationship has ended
- Third-Party Reference to the Mark
Permitted Descriptive Use
Third parties may refer to The BOUNCE Approach® in a descriptive and accurate way, for example:
- “based on The BOUNCE Approach®”
- “informed by The BOUNCE Approach®”
Such references must be accurate, must not imply ownership, and must not imply endorsement or affiliation unless this has been formally agreed.
Use That May Be Challenged
Child Therapy Practitioners Limited may challenge use of similar naming or wording where it:
- uses identical or substantially similar wording in a way likely to cause confusion
- suggests a commercial connection, endorsement, or affiliation with The BOUNCE Approach®
- applies similar naming to education, training, or wellbeing services
Each case will be considered on its individual merits, taking into account:
- the similarity of the mark or name in question
- the similarity of the services involved
- the likelihood of confusion among the relevant audience
- Sector Context
The BOUNCE Approach® operates within:
- educational settings
- professional training and continuing professional development (CPD)
- therapeutic and wellbeing support
The use of similar naming within these specific areas carries a heightened risk of confusion and will be assessed accordingly.
- Monitoring and Enforcement
Child Therapy Practitioners Limited actively monitors use of similar naming within relevant sectors.
Where concerns arise, steps may include:
- informal contact to discuss and clarify use
- a request to modify or cease use in order to reduce the risk of confusion
- formal opposition or legal action where necessary
All action taken will be proportionate and based on:
- established trademark rights
- evidence of use
- the assessed risk of confusion
- Brand Integrity
The BOUNCE Approach® is a structured professional framework used across education, therapy, and wellbeing settings.
Consistent and accurate use of the mark supports:
- clarity for schools, families, and professionals
- quality and consistency in delivery of the approach
- protection of the brand’s reputation and the trust placed in it
