Why We Created KidZone
Every child deserves a voice.
KidZone was created because children don’t always communicate with words. Sometimes they need a different way to show us what is happening inside.
When talking feels too difficult
Some children can’t find the words. Others don’t yet know what they’re feeling. Creative therapeutic tools give children another way to express thoughts, feelings and experiences without the pressure of having to explain.

No single activity works for every child. Some children build. Some draw. Some tell stories. Some create imaginary worlds. KidZone offers a range of interactive tools so every child can find a way that feels right for them.

Every tool has been designed through the BOUNCE Approach®, recognising that behaviour is communication and that creativity can reveal what words cannot always say. The goal isn’t to interpret children’s creations, but to create opportunities for curiosity, connection and understanding.

Before children can talk about emotions, they often notice them in their body. The Body Map helps children explore sensations, energy and physical experiences, building interoception and creating another way to communicate what may be difficult to put into words.

Children don’t just feel emotions – they experience changes in their nervous system. The Energy Thermometer helps children recognise their level of energy and notice what their body needs, supporting self-awareness before behaviour escalates.

Children often express experiences more freely through symbols, play and imagination than through direct conversation. Sand Stories provides a creative space where thoughts, feelings and experiences can be explored without pressure to find the right words.

Social situations can be confusing when thoughts, feelings and perspectives remain hidden. Comic Strips help children slow situations down, explore different viewpoints and make sense of interactions through simple visual storytelling.

Music can support regulation, emotional expression and connection without relying on words. Whether listening, moving or creating, music offers children another pathway to calm, engagement and wellbeing.
