Support Neurodivergent Children Over Christmas
Practical, gentle guidance for creating a lower-demand, emotionally safer Christmas for autistic children, those with ADHD or PDA profiles, and children with sensory processing differences.
Christmas can feel magical — but for many neurodivergent children, it can also feel too much. Sensory input, routine changes, transitions, social expectations, and high excitement can combine quickly into overwhelm. What looks like excitement from the outside can be a nervous system already running at its limit.
This training explores practical ways to reduce pressure and support regulation across the festive period — from adapting parties, performances, and family visits, to supporting children through gifts, food, decorations, and unpredictability. With a focus on Autism, ADHD, PDA profiles, and sensory processing differences, you’ll learn how to involve children in collaborative planning so the Christmas period feels safer, more predictable, and more respectful.
Suitable for parents, carers, teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs, family support workers, and therapists — anyone supporting neurodivergent children and teens at home, in school, or across both settings.
