Introduction to The BOUNCE Approach®
A free 45-minute webinar covering the core principles of The BOUNCE Approach® — a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming framework for understanding what’s really happening underneath a child’s behaviour.
Anxiety, overwhelm, refusal, meltdown, shutdown — these aren’t behaviours to fix. They’re messages from a nervous system doing its best to keep a child safe, even when the outside world can’t see what it’s responding to. The problem is that most adults don’t have a framework for understanding what they’re looking at. And most children don’t have a language for what they’re feeling.
The BOUNCE Approach® gives both sides what they need. For the adult: a lens for reading what’s actually happening underneath the behaviour. For the child: a shared language for their own internal states, and a route back to regulation when they need one. This introduction covers the core principles — how BOUNCE works, what the Whole Child Approach looks like in practice, and why meeting individual needs matters more than managing surface behaviour.
Suitable for parents, carers, foster carers, teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, social workers, and anyone supporting children with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma, neurodivergence, or attachment needs. No prior knowledge assumed — this is the foundation every other CTS training builds on.
