Welcome to Creating Safe Spaces

The webinar is aimed at both identifying and non-identifying neurodivergent people to help support developing their groups across a range of settings and activities such as lunch clubs, interest-based groups, community events, play groups, library activities and online gatherings. Importantly this webinar is also aimed at parents, carers and identifying neurodivergent people in order to provide you with resources to help with advocating for supports when accessing a group.

This webinar will look at what is a safe space and what are some of the key principles, values & approaches that can cultivate these safe spaces for neurodivergent people. We want to better ensure that your event or group is accessible. Additionally, we want to help individuals take away ideas that can help with joining a group and have ongoing participation and enjoyment.

The hope is that each of you are able to take away meaningful ways forward so that neurodivergent participants are truly welcomed, validated & comfortable taking part.
