Social & Emotional Practitioner Training

Welcome to a new series of courses focused on areas of need. The area of need for this course is Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

This course aims to provide the facilitator with knowledge, understanding and skills to run their own 6-week Emotional Regulation Intervention. It has been designed for those children, who are struggling with their emotions within school and/or home. Especially, for those children that may exhibit different behaviour at home, due to social masking at school.

Course Outline:

  • Introduction to the neuro-science behind emotional regulation
  • Explore how foundational skills impact on emotions
  • Explore how a structured Emotional Regulation Session can help build skills
  • Review a structured Emotional Regulation Session – from the viewpoint of areas of need
  • Explore the stages of a 1 hour Emotional Regulation Session
  • Explore each of the 6 sessions
  • Discuss practical considerations
