Welcome to this reflection pack. It has been designed to give the child an opportunity to reflect, positively on their day.

It has been carefully designed to focus on:

  • Being Grateful: Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. (Harvard Medical School)
  • Acts of Kindness: Random acts of kindness are essential to our well-being, as they liberate us from self-obsession, selfishness, and isolation. What we give, we receive.
  • Being Kind to Yourself (self-care): Selfcare helps us better cope with stress and to prioritise what’s important. We are better able to take care of others, when we also take time to meet our own needs.
  • Self-Regulation: When we are able to emotionally regulate. We become more resilient and able to deal with external stresses.
  • Letting Go: When we are more aware of what we can and cannot control – we are more empowered to be in the present moment, rather than re-living past experiences.

Objectives:

  • To explore how situations in the day may have impacted on emotions
  • To identify potential triggers
  • To reflect on effective techniques to self-regulate and cope with emotional overwhelm
