Description

Outline:

What is so lovely about this pack, is how it provides the child with an opportunity to share how they are feeling – with one quick circle. They simply select and draw around the image and then write why they are feeling this way. If they are not able to write why – they could draw a picture of it. Then share this with a trusted adult, who can explore ways to support them.

Who would benefit from using this pack?:

  • Anxious children struggling to sleep – why not put one of these next to their bed, so that they can stop their ‘chimp’ over thinking the problem?
  • Children that mask at school – why not write one out at home and then give it to a trusted adult at school, so that the school are aware of any difficulties?
  • Children with selective mutism – to enable the adult to understand and support the child, without putting pressure on them to talk about it.
  • Children struggling with anxiety and stress

Objectives:

  • To begin to reflect on internal emotions
  • To be able to label this emotion
  • To be able to communicate this with a trusted adult
