Holistic Therapy is a extremely effective person-centred approach for anyone struggling with anxiety and emotional overwhelm – that can’t talk about it.

It is very effective for children that need another way – a way to control the physical overwhelm of emotions.

As with Drawing & Talking – it is intended to complement rather than replace the work of CAMHS, art or other specialist therapists; enabling children who would otherwise go untreated to get the help they need before problems become entrenched.

WHAT DO SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?

Work with the children is very much based on their individual needs.  The pace and dynamics adapted throughout the session – which is why, this approach is very effective for neuro-divergent children.

The sessions involve teaching the child a number of body-work techniques:

  • Applied Relaxation Technique
  • Relaxation through Guided Meditation
  • Deep Breath-work Techniques
  • Reflexology
  • Emotional Freedom Technique
  • Nervous System Relaxation – using Acupressure

These sessions are also idea, for families or professionals looking to up-skill themselves, so that they can use these techniques moving forward.
