Grounding Techniques Pack


  • To understand that physical, mental, and soothing techniques can calm the nervous system
  • To identify which technique works


This pack has been created, so that the adult working with the child – has a toolkit of resources/techniques available to them, to model to the child how they can regulate their system back to a calm state.  There are lots of ideas – simply, go through each (slowly) to find out which works for them.  Then, if the child starts to ‘wobble’ – you can show them the prompt card and remind them how to regulate again.  This identified technique, could also be part of their calm box!
