Outline:

This training is aimed at families of children struggling with anxiety and unable to attend school full-time. It will provide knowledge and understanding of how to support the child through this difficult time.  It is also a great tool for support workers, looking at how to adapt the setting to support the child entering the school.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand what is behind a child’s anxiety
  • Explore triggers that could be causing anxiety
  • Look at effective techniques to reduce this (Recommended by SENDCos)
  • Review the types of plans used at home and school to reduce anxiety and improve school attendance
  • Look at the importance of a collaborative ‘team effort’ in implementing a therapeutic plan and real life examples of when it’s been successful
