Description

What are parent & carer coaching sessions?

Coaching sessions for parents and carers, are aimed at adults that are emotionally triggered by the needs of their child.  They are run by Tracy, a very experienced holistic coach, who works on a bottom-up approach of releasing unprocessed emotions, that are held in the body.  She will not only support you on this journey – she has lived this journey.

Tracy applies a body-to-mind approach to help the client let go of unprocessed negative emotions and regulate their internal nervous system.  She will use a combination of approaches, including; Wingwave Coaching (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), Bilateral Integration Techniques, Mindfulness, Meditation, Coaching, and Neutral Space Relaxation (Bodywork Relaxation).  Using these to help the client process past experiences, so that they are no longer triggered by them now.  It is a process of awareness, understanding, and resolve.

What is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing?

The lateral eye movements, used in the session reduces activation of the amygdala (emotional part of the brain) and related circuitries – which reduces the amplitude of the anxiety and stress.  This helps the client to feel calmer and restores balance in their internal system.  This works really well with bilateral integration techniques – which are shown in the session and can be applied independently, as and when needed.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique?

Tapping is similar to acupuncture, but without the needles!  We lightly tap on certain points on the face and upper body, to relieve tension and stress. This technique is really effective, as the child can apply it anytime they need to.

What is the Bounce Approach?

It is really important, that throughout the process – all clients are aware of the science behind the techniques.  All approaches used are scientifically proven to be effective and clients need to understand why.  This is why we explore the Bounce Approach – which is in effect Tracy’s adaptation of the Polyvagal Theory, a neuroscientific and psychological link between the vagus nerve and emotional regulation (Stephen Porges).

Body-based Relaxation Techniques

For clients that don’t want to talk about their emotions, body-based relaxation techniques such as Neutral Space Relaxation, mindfulness, breathing techniques and meditations are extremely effective. These approaches would be incorporated into the sessions, alongside links to private videos – so that clients can use them time and time again.

Who would benefit from this style of support?

  • Parents and carers who are emotionally triggered by their child
  • Professionals who are emotionally triggered by children in their care

What other’s have said

I had some major issues that I decided I needed to address, but I didn’t know who to turn to. I’ve had countless counselling sessions when I was at school, private counselling sessions too however, nothing had really seemed to help. This was before I met Tracy, and to say I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her, would be an understatement.  The sessions I had helped to address the root of the problems I was having, which was a real eye opener. I went to Tracy with a list of things I felt insecure about and that were causing me sleepless nights and severe anxiety, creating life blocks as such.
Tracy helped me to understand what the root problems really were, that stemmed back way before the list I went with. It was so eye opening and at times, confusing how we got to the roots of the issues to identify my triggers, but it has been one of the most interesting experiences in my life. After addressing the triggers, I would go away after every session with homework and tasks to do to make progress on dealing with the triggers.  Tracy is a truly remarkable and passionate lady and I will forever be grateful that I was told to reach out to her for the help I wanted, not realising at the time how much my life would be changed.

How much does it cost?

The aim is to complete a short burst of 4-6 sessions. Ultimately, once the triggers have been removed – the client doesn’t need anymore sessions.
It is target specific, therefore – the client needs a clear understanding to what event, in their past, their body is being taken back to.  Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £55 per session.  Sponsorships are available on a case-by-case basis and discussed within the initial consultation.

how do I book a session?

Initially, you would need to book a consultation – this is to identify which combination of approaches would best meet your needs.  Thereafter, using the appointment system to book sessions. Click here to access the booking system
